Project Description
A two-stage project combining a heritage renovation with a contemporary rear addition, designed to enhance functionality, lifestyle, and long-term value.
Stage One preserved and modernised the existing Victorian home, improving flow, usability, and interior functionality while respecting heritage character.
Stage Two added a rear garage with a first-floor entertainment level, including a golf simulator, lounge area, and balcony overlooking a reimagined landscape, carefully navigating planning constraints and heritage overlays.
Design Intent
The goal was to create a home that balances heritage preservation with modern living. Every design decision prioritised buildability, lifestyle, and long-term value, while optimising spatial efficiency and light.
The architectural approach ensures:
– Seamless integration of old and new, preserving key heritage features while delivering contemporary functionality
– Flexible, multi-use spaces for recreation, work, and family life
– Open, light-filled living zones with strong connections to the redesigned outdoor areas
– Thoughtful attention to materials, detailing, and finishes for a cohesive, high-quality result
– Strategic planning to manage complex approvals, setbacks, and site constraints without compromising design intent
The project demonstrates how careful planning, integrated design, and construction-informed decisions can transform a complex site into a home that is practical, beautiful, and enduring.
