Project Description
4FSAB is a considered internal renovation of a Victorian-era home, transforming a compact and outdated interior into a functional, contemporary living environment. With the clients expecting their first child, the brief centred on creating a home that could support a growing family while simultaneously strengthening the property’s resale value.
The renovation reconfigured key spaces to improve circulation, storage and day-to-day usability, while preserving the character of the original structure. Light, flow and functionality guided each decision, resulting in a more open and efficient plan that enhances both comfort and practicality.
The outcome is a modernised family home that respects its heritage origins while delivering the spatial flexibility and amenity required for modern living — and a significant uplift in long-term market appeal
Design Intent
The design intent for 4FSAB was to bring new life to a traditional Victorian home by creating a layout that feels brighter, more functional and better suited to contemporary family needs. With limited internal space, the focus was on rethinking how each room worked, optimising storage, and improving the relationship between living areas.
Every intervention was guided by the dual goal of enhancing daily comfort while maximising future resale potential. The material palette and detailing were selected to feel fresh yet timeless, ensuring the renovation complemented the home’s historic character without overwhelming it.
Ultimately, the intent was to deliver a thoughtful and efficient transformation — a home that feels larger, lives better, and performs strongly in the market, all within the constraints of the original footprint
